Fresh off her Junior Sprint win Saturday night, she was back in action Monday behind the wheel of her Box Stock at Millbridge Speedway. With 31 karts entered, it was a packed and competitive night.
Qualifying didn’t start off strong — she timed in 13th. But with the invert, that ended up being the sweet spot, placing her on the pole for Heat 1. She held her own and finished second in the heat, which slotted her 5th for the feature.
Between races, Michael made some adjustments, and the kart looked better when the green flag dropped. She settled in and was fighting up front, battling hard for a top-5 spot. Going into Turn 3, she made an aggressive move and went three-wide, but it didn’t stick — she lost control and spun.
With the field running tight lap times, track position was everything. After the spin, it was tough to work back through traffic, but she managed to pick up a few spots and finished 11th.
It wasn’t the finish we hoped for, but it was a night full of learning and solid wheel time in a competitive field. On to the next one!
