After leaving the track with an injury last Tuesday, I was thankful for an overall smooth night last night. Giselle qualified 2nd out of 30 karts. That put her starting 4th in Heat 2. She quickly made passes in the heat race and ended up 2nd. In the feature, she started 5th. Fell back to 6th on the start. Kart kept kicking out on corner exit and she lost a few spots. After a couple laps, she got her groove back and was able to make passes to get back to a 6th place finish. Very blown away with how well she has transitioned into Box Stock. Per usual, she just goes and does her thing then pops back into the trailer and wreaks havoc on my life. From mom’s POV, the karts handle different and Giselle AND Michael are adjusting. I wanted to go and push Giselle into the bottom line last night going into Turn 1 and 2. When she would hit that line, the kart was on rails. However, she claims that line was really difficult to hit based on how the kart was handling. TBD on whether it’s Michael’s fault or Giselle’s. No one listens to me so I have been forced to make website post so everyone else can read my POV. One thing is for sure, Powermax and Phantom Racing Chassis have her hooked up. The kart is fast, just have to figure out the handling.
